Hay Mark, was only some friendly advice bud and trying to get you the most bang for your buck but enjoy your new set up and I'm pretty sure it'll sound a bit different from what you've been used to.in a good way of course.

i have everything setup now and it does sound incredible i am having a little bit of a problem with the speakers sitting on the desk the sound especialy the bass resonates through the desk and doesnt sound very nice, i believe it was you who mentioned stands wich is why im directing this at you

i have had a look at a few different kinds of stand and i dont really think i have the space for them atleast not till i move my setup upstairs wich is going to take a while because im redoing that whole room so im looking for a solution to isolate the speakers from the desk

i found this on amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Auralex-MoPad-Monitor-Isolation-Pads/dp/B00266HBSU

do you think that will help at all?

Isoacoustics stands

Both look like decent options for speaker isolation on a desktop, get whatever option suits your pocket,if it's only short term and your moving the system to a larger room then I'd choose the less expensive solution and keep any leftover money for the stands you want in the future.

Hi Mark,

A good temporary solution to isolating on a desktop - stick a few blobs of blutac under the speakers until you get stands. Works quite well.

By the way, you asked if you can get a turntable with built-in phono stage. The answer is yes, I have one. Pro-Ject do a version for several of their turntables. They are also easy to set up. Others exist, but the Pro-Ject takes some beating. Take a look at their website. The "phono USB" is the one you want. As well as rca connectors to your amp, they connect to PCs via USB, should you wish to rip the albums.

i think you have made a good first purchase. Happy listening.
