Hi,

After upgrading my speakers and amp to EB Acoustic EB1 and Nait XS, respectively, I want to upgrade my source. I am wondering if I should invest in a new CD player, DAC or a new turntable, whatever gives the best results. I have been contemplating these components:

- Rega P-5 with Rega Exact cartridge and Naim stageline N.

- Rega DAC, use my NAD CD 512 as transport through digital out and also use my PC through USB. I currently have the Firestone Spitfire MKII, but I think I can do much better.

- Buy a second hand Naim cd player, such as the CDX5 (not the CD5XS, which is out of my budget at the moment).

I own around 2000 cds, 300 LPS and also have some amount of lossless FLAC files.

I am a bit worried with regards to the TT, as I cannot find a proper placement for it in my current apartment. So maybe steps 2 and 3 are more ideal at the moment?

Will using the NAD as transport do the Rega DAC justice?

What upgrade do you reckon will result in the best quality?

Look forward to hearing your suggestions :)

The Rega P5 is very tempting. Do you think it will give me better end results than a Rega DAC and/or CD5x? I will obviously try to audition, but will highly appreciate any comments.
