I have a Samsung 6 series tv, which is now my 2nd tv to an 8 series Samsung
The sound is poor through the tv speakers on the 6 series but is it worth adding a soundbar for an older tv like this? I did once try the Sonos beam with it but the volume had to be cranked nearly to 100!
Or should I get a new tv more suited to a soundbar?
Thanks

The price of modern 4K TV start so vey low. The value, to sell of of TV is next to nothing.

Using the 3.5mm headphone output or RCA phono if it has any to an amplifier and speakers works very well. Speakers like the Kanto YU may offer more than you need. Many powered speakers work very well as alternatives to sound bars.

On a TV without RCA analogue outputs I used a cheaper optical to RCA convertor to an old vintage NAD amplifier. Works very well, for the "hassle" of one more item to power on.
