Question Soundbar or Front speakers and centre speaker

Which works best in a surround sound system? I'm currently running a 5.1 system but I may move that into my office and would like to have a wireless setup (for the rear speakers) but soundbars confuse me vs a normal F-Centre-L setup.

A dedicated 3 speaker setup will give you better separation than a soundbar but soundbars are better aesthetically and are less complicated. Also, some soundbars are excellent in performance and give traditional 3-speaker setups a run for their money, with additional features like Dolby Atmos. Many soundbars will allow wireless rear speakers.
