Soundbar/HiFi

Has anyone thought about using a NAIM MU-SO as a soundbar? Crazy maybe but thinking of ditching my NAIM pre-power and my Concept 20's and doing this.

Thinking about it yep. Dunno how good it will be as obviously that isn't its main purpose. It might just be like putting tv sound through hifi speakers which isn't that great.

TBH music comes 1st after TV, thats why i was thinking about it 😉

It's not such a crazy idea. I imagine quite a few people will purchase it to use as a soundbar based on its quality, and having an optical connection it will plug into the average TV in exactly the same way. How many soundbars have an IOS or Android app? How many have AirPlay? How many can stream hi-res music? How many are built this good? How many sound this good? How many are genuinely active in design? It's seemingly high price point doesn't seem so high when you take all this into account.

Agreed, it should work well. I have the far cheaper Sony HT-XT1, not sure if it's active or not. But it connects via HDMI and has Bluetooth. It works brilliantly for television, movies and music. I stand the television on top of it though. You couldn't do that with the Naim.

If I could convince my girlfriend, or reassure myself I would not be killed for doing so, I would buy the Naim for this same purpose.
