Hello,

I have the following;

LG 42LH5000 LCD TV,

Sony PS3 Slim,

Q Acoustics Home Cinema 2000 Speaker Pack,

Sony STR-DH800.

Everything works perfectly, except my sub is not sounding. It's plugged into the mains, and into the 'sub' socket on the amp, but when turned on, it switches from a green light (on), to red (standby) within two seconds. I have tried playing games, music and films on my PS3, but it doesn't react to any.

I'm sure i'm being a complete prat, but could someone please offer help and assistance?

Thankyou very much for taking the time to read this,

Russ.

Does it have a switch on the back for 'auto' on? because that used to be the problem with my one - it would not read the incoming signal all of the time. So now I just set it to 'On' and unplug it when not in use.

Also, make sure it's plugged into the right (red) phono on the sub and amp togetheru nless of course it is a single connector one on each.

Hi, thanks for your mail,

It doesn't have an 'auto' switch i'm afraid.

It has the follwing controls;

Level - I've put to half

Crossover - Fully clockwise

Phase - Fully anti-clockwise

Sound Mode - Av

Phase Invert - 0

Auto Sensitivity - Medium

All the settings were recommended in the manual.

Any ideas? Again, thankyou for your help!!

Russ

Sounds right, should def read it with 'high' on, otherwise it may be faulty.

I've put it to 'high' sensitivity, but still nothing. Would it be anything to do with the amp or PS3 settings do you think?

Have you run the set-up on your amp, not sure if the sony has something similar to an audussey set-up? otherwise try the THX Optimizer sound set-up - found on the star wars discs for example.
This should let you know if it has recognised you have a sub connected.

[*]I cannot get them to work to-gether with the surround sound I think its the panasonic BTVision works ok
