I've recently got my hi-fi up and running again after it's been gathering dust for the last 10 year's, I'm not happy with the sound as it's quite dull(better at loud volumes, but can't always be played loud!) ,I'm sure it didn't used to sound like this, I've got a marantz pm6010 ose amp which I'm thinking may be the culprit, I've just replaced an old Phillips cd with a Cambridge audio topaz cd10 and the sound was really dull on both, it seems better with an old pioneer minidisc player! Poor sound also with my rega planar 2 turntable but i was putting that down to it needing a new cartridge/stylus(I think), I'm using some small mission 760I se speakers, bit of a novice really so if anyone has any idea's where I'm going wrong it would be much appreciated

Try different speakers.
