Sound Delay Adjust

Okay, so I've got a JBL SB400 soundbar connected to my Samsung UE46F6740 LED TV. I have the TV connected to the soundbar, and then the soundbar connected to the Sony Blu-ray player all by HDMI cable. Only the Blu-ray player is connected, nothing else.

So when I play movies, I get like up to a 0.5 second delay; the picture is after the sound; so the sound is early.

I tried entering the service menu on the TV (no delay option on the soundbar) and i got there and there's an option for sound delay (YAY!)

So the image I have attached below on the flickr link shows my problem - is it even safe for me to do this? How do i get the values the same?... the questions are on the sheet!

After spending £1300 on all this, I'm just abit like....so i would really love your help!

hi, my experiences with sound delays is to turn off any picture processing ie motion settings, picture enhancments blah blah within your tv settings, turn them all off and therefore there will be less of a delay (if any) on the picture as your tv isnt messing about processing it. ideally when watching your bluray player you would want something like a 1080p pass thro, pure picture mode if you have such a setting (and or turn off all picture processing). you should find your tv saves the settings just for the bluray so you could have separate picture settings for each input.

i cant asnwer your other questions as i dont have your equipement i just know from experience its easier to reduce the way i have said!

Motion plus makes everything worse and blurry so i turned that off and yes the synch issue is much better.

from av forums, someone also told me that there is something called av sync on my blu ray player control panel, i changed that and although its not perfect it is indeed much better, enough to keep it and not return the bar.
