I am thinking of going to the sound and vision show at bristol before I buy my new home cinema system and wondered if anyone could give me any idea on how many different home cinema systems that I would be able to listen to at the show. would this be the best place to hear different systems in 1 place?

All depends on a) your budget and b) the brands you're interested in, but Bristol is a great place to get demos from a range of manufacturers on the same day.

The exhibitor's list is strong - you can find it on the Show website here - and with top AV electronics names such as Yamaha, Denon, Pioneer, Onkyo and Marantz there, plus speakers from KEF, Monitor Audio, Dali, Q Acoustics and more, there should be a great range of demos.

And we'll be there, too

We're currently working on a big show preview, where we'll find out just what products and systems manufacturers plan to offer at Bristol; this preview will appear both in our next issue (out Feb 3rd) and here online nearer the show (which runs from 26-28 February).

Hi clare, my budget is about £4000, As yet I have not heard many different systems, I went to my local store and the 2 main systems that they stocked was bose, which I have now been talked out of from most people on your forums, then they had a cinema room with a pioneer lx-90 av system. But I was very disapointed with the salesman. As this was the only cinema room they had he did not really know anything about the system, He did not even know if it was a 7.1 system.

I have just noticed that you will be at the autosport show this weekend, will you be demo ing.any systems there?

I will be there on the sunday. Just hope the snow is not to bad to get there. Drive safely and hope to see you there

Yep, we're at Autosport International this weekend; the guys have just left with a van packed full of kit. We're not doing a set demo at the show, but will have all the Award winners on display, and be on hand to answer questions on all things hi-fi and AV.

We'll have a bigger presence - and full demo - at Bristol, where i'm sure you'll find plenty of systems to suit your budget. Here's hoping the weather improves by then!
