The sound review is absurd to read. If you're using digital connections like HDMI, the audio coming out of the BD player is literally passed through as the original bitstream from the disc to your receiver or TV lol. The receiving unit decodes it. Not the player.
The only possible time there would be a difference is if you're having the player downmix a surround track to 2-channel PCM.
Otherwise, a $10 player from the goodwill sounds as good as a $1000 player.
