Hi all. I'm a little overloaded at present so your advice / opinions are very welcome.

I'm currently using a Sony STR-DN1040 as a replacement to my Onkyo TX-NR717 ( see http://www.whathifi.com/forum/av-receivers/replacement-for-onkyo-tx-nr-717 )

Very gratefully, I now have the choice between an Onkyo TX-NR717 and a Sony STR-DN1050. While the Sony comes with the latest built in Wi-fi, blue tooth and airplay. It lacks the outputs and cert's of the Onkyo.

My listening room is large and I primarily use the amp in the evening for music, film or game. I have no 2nd room that I use. I rarely listen to internet radio and I won't be buying a 4k set for 2/3 years. However I would like my amp to be as futureproof as possible.

What's your take / advice ?

Apple tvs or airport expresses are £59 on the Apple refurb store, so if you would rather the onkyo, go for the onkyo. Don't let the smart stuff sway you, it can be added later.

Based solely on myt own experience with the brand. The Onkyo.
