Hi, I already have 5 Q Acoustics 2010 speakers, and have just ordered a Sony STR-DH810 receiver. My question is what sub would suit this combo? This is my first AV setup, so any suggestions are welcome! I'm leaning towards the BK Gemini II, purely because of price. Is this a good idea, or can I get better for my money? It is for use in a small lounge, so doesn't need to be to over the top by the way![:)]

ive got an acoustic energy radience sub, its b stock, cosmetically imperfect but mechanically perfect, they only come with a month guarantee though..

mine looks fine, it seems like its missing a coat of lacquer, but thats certainly not a problem as far as i'm concerned, it's an excellent sub which can be got from their ebay shop for £197, its rrp is £510.

I recently bought the acoustic energy radience sub in natural ash which is still available on ebay sold as b stock for £197 + £8 p&p mine was perfect no marks or nothing, these usually retail at £400+.

But is it better than the BK Gemini ? I couldn't honestly say as i haven't used one, but I can recommend the radiance as i'm very happy with its performance in my system.

Cheers

Edit the natural ash one comes with a years warrany

I'm probably going to settle for the Gemini, I think it is more than enough for my living room! Do I require a mono or stereo RCA interconnect? It is asking me on the order page and I have no idea?

well they do mention in the ebay add that the subs are cosmetically imperfect pete, perhaps yours is different to mine? i dont know, im not saying mine is defo missing a coat of lacquer, but it does appear that it's not finished to the exact standards as a full price model, as i say its a minor gripe, and only noticeable under close scrutiny, and given the price and performance im delighted with it...

I have a rubber mat on mine, and for a while it left a mark on the sub......

I rubbed it, etc and it didn't come off......until I used a damp mircofibre cloth, and it's now gone....

Apart from that....I love it!!!! (Although I'm using stereo mode at the moment till I order my new rear speakers....

Yeah I thought so Max, I read the thread you and Pete posted on about the sub and the notch filter and it seemed like a good deal to me.

On mine theres a slightly darker strip of wood compared to the rest of it guess thats why it's B' stock but it lives behind my sofa so its all good !!

As for the sound its spot on.

Cheers
