Sony smart TV content query

This is my 3rd attempt at putting this post on here!!! But trying again,

i've had my Sony KDL 40EX503 TV since 2010 but have only just connected it to the net, opened an account on the Sony website (without giving payment details) and registered my device using the 5 letter code displayed by the TV.

it works and I am linking to Sonys smart TV platform, though not as much content as I would have expect d to see. One thing missing which I know is available via Sony is Netflix, does it take a while for all the content to appear after first registering or is my TV too old to receive everything?

also, how do I get you tube content to display full screen, rather than just in a small screen, which seems to be the default?

I suspect it depends which version of the smart interface you have, and as it's an older TV, you may not have all the apps available on the latest models.

Thanks, is it possible to update the interface now my TV is connected to the Net?

It's a 2010 TV and doesn't support the Netflix app and is very unlikely to get it, unfortunately. Cheapest bet - other than connecting a laptop via HDMI - would probably be Google Chromecast.

Thanks, that's kind of what I expected, but not really ready to change my tv just yet.
