hi all just wondering if anybody has come across the dnr settings in the options menu when watching a disk, and if anyone can ellaborate on what these settings do, i cant find anything in the manual. thanks

Digital Noise Reduction

Generally a bad idea. Its for discs that look horrible and it will filter out noise

hi thanks for the fast reply, sorry i should have pointed out tha i alreadyknow what the dnr settings do in essence, just wondered why there are 3 different settings ... dnr, mnr and something else cant remember right now, but what these actually do differently to eachother.

MOSQUITO noise reduction (the small blocks that surround certain objects, especially when watching poorly made dvds)

As a rule, I'd leave these settings alone (i.e. set to 0).

Agreed

Switch off ALL processing that isnt required (contrast enhance, live colour and all the other silly names they have etc etc etc)

I agree with AlienRIK. I have left the option menu settings on my S-370 as they were.
