It's a loaded gun, so I'll refrain from commenting.
This isn't about another vinyl v digital debate but more about the blanket characterisation of audiophiles.

The article is presumptuous about these special herd of tweed jacket dwellers living in another realm of existence and somehow their love of vinyl is some kind of accreditation of the format and the exclusion of others.

Anyway that's my little rant out or the way.

I stopped reading on the second paragraph.

Warmth is created by cheap decks, or sometimes intentionally by the product manufacturer. It isn't inherent in vinyl records.

Resonant arm tubes, platters and/or plinths, and poor isolation of the whole turntable are pretty strong contributors to the over-warm and cuddly school of vinyl. Cheap phono stages with poor equalisation too.
