Hi all,

I have a sony s370. It certaintly has a better picture than my pioneer dvd player and also better clarity in the sound. However its a little forward sounding, lacking a little stage depth. I have only used it for a few hours will the sound become a little more mellow and lose a little of its forwardness after burn in. How many hours will it need?

Cheers

Steve.

I would say a week max - there were modest improvements in sound.

Are you talking sound for CDs? Forget it, I don't think it's bad but it won't match a good CD player - too thin and artificial sounding.

I find the sound for movies astonishing though in stereo.

20 minutes. That's long enough for it to warm up thoroughly.

Mine took about 10 minutes to recover from the indignity of being slung in a Tesco trolley with some gin and tonics, rye bread, Camembert, mixed olives and Feta, a 'Collateral' BD disk, and two short sleeved white t-shirts.
