It's definitely new telly time to replace my 28" Pannasonic CRT and I've got a quantity of John Lewis vouchers (although not enough to cover the set) so I'm fairly tied to buying from them...

They've got a couple of offers at the moment which bundle the BDP-S350 BluRay player with the TV, but I'm torn between the 4000 and the 4500. Both have had cracking reviews, and the 4500 is clearly newer, but it it really worth the extra £210?

Yes, the W4500 is definitely worth the extra - though we've seen the sets priced more closely than that if you shop around.(Though in your case, with the JL vouchers, that doesn't seem an option).

As an aside, we'd say the V4000 snaps harder at the W4000's heels - that's a closer battle than that between the W4000 and W4500...

Clare, have you noticed a probelm with clouding or backlight bleed on these sets? John Archer (over at trustedreviews.com) has reviewed the 52" version and noticed some graying at the corners of the panel. Quite a few users on forums are also reporting clouding. Just wondered as I am a whisker away from purchasing the 40" tomorrow! Much appreciated, and looking forward to the awards issue!

I was very surprised that the 52" only got 8/10 at Trusted Reviews. I thought it would walk a 9/10.

Does anyone else get multiple images of moving golf, tennis footballs etc on the W4000? It destroys any chance of enjoying sport.

Not something I've noticed on the W4000 particularly, but the 4500 has MotionFlow 100Hz to combat that sort of thing.

I'd say the 4500 is a significant improvement on the 4000. We have them side by side in the shop and every customer that looks at them notices the difference pretty much straight away.

Hi Clare, despite all the rav reviews regarding the W4500 are we going to see a significant improvement with the Z4500 with 200HZ?

Does the w4000 have 25hz technology as it indicates on the screen banner (576 lines 25hz)? Could this horrific motion problem be caused by anything other than the set? It does it on freeview and composite sky feed. The signal strength on freeview is high. I am mystified that such a highly rated set should exibit such hopeless motion. Is it just an LCD thing that everyone lives with? We have had a plasma for 6 years (and still have) with not a hint of this problem.

Claire, help me out here!
