Hi Everybody

Can you help ?

My query is regarding the Ethernet connection on my Sony KDL Z5500 used to access the widjet features on the screen. The TV is in another room to the location of my Wireless Thomson router(suppiled by Demon Internet). Other than running a twenty foot cable and drilling a hole in the ceiling to connect a cable directly from my router into the Sony Tv ethernet port. Can this be done by using a RJ45 wireless bridge this was suggested to me . However I have no idea what make I need or if this can work?

Help Please

Yes a wireless Ethernet bridge would do the job. You set it up connected to your computer, and after that it works independently - you just plug it into the mains and your TV using a short Ethernet cable, and job done.

All the well-known brands make such devices, and they're much of a muchness in that they all do the job. I use a Belkin to connect the Oppo player to the home network, and it cost me around £20 at the time. I think equivalent models are now around £25-35.
