Hi. seen a blu ray player at a good price on a well known internet shop. The item is for the french market but being sold in Britain. Does anyone know if the manufacturers guarantee will be valid in England?

Thanks

Dominic

Remember that if your blu-ray player develops a fault outside its warranty (after 1 year), you're still protected by the EU law & Sale of Goods Act, but it's the retailer & not the manufacturer who is responsible for replacement/repair. So, you'll have to chase up the French retailer & even post your player to France!

yes, pixmania. they have sony 760 going for 158 pounds. price rang alarm bells and when i read the small print have discovered pix is french site pretending to be based in england. but it is still owned by the firm that owns currys dixons and pc world here in england. when i wrote question i thought i could go direct to manufacture for warr repair if required. now found out would have to send item to france....

thanks for your help guys but decided risk may be too high to chance it.
