I own a Samsung LE37 R87BD TV and a Sony RDR-HXD870 DVD/HDD Recorder. I want to introduce a Blu Ray Player so I can experience HD on my TV (although I appreciate not full HD). I'm interested in the Sony BDPS370 and BDPS570 which both seem fantastic players but does anyone know which will be the best match for my TV and will I notice much picture quality difference from my current Sony DVD upscaler? Also, as I get less than 2Mb download speeds will that affect access to online content such as BBC i-player? Cheers.

I'd say the main reason to consider the 570 above the 370 in your setup would be for the wireless functionaility. The 570 is also 3D compatible, but you would need a new telly to appreciate this (if indeed you're bothered!).
I believe 2 Mbps should be fine for iPlayer usage, so long as you haven't got other things consuming the bandwidth in the background (e.g. downloading stuff on your PC).

I recently bought an S570, and am seriously impressed by it. I went for the 570 over the 370 partially because it felt a bit more substantial than the featherweight 370. Its tempting to open it to see if there are any component changes, but TBH I doubt it. The fact that the £99 370 seems to have vanished, made the price gap close enough to justify it for me (got a MR 570 for £179 from RS)

Ive tested mine and its about 5ish. If it were me, I would have provisions for an Ethernet cable just in case.

Thanks for getting back to me, it's good to hear that I shouldn't have streaming issues. I had a demo of the 570 with a Sony 3D TV and was seriously impressed with the quality of the 3D image, especially watching 'Cloudy with a chance of meatballs'. It was so much better than anything I'd seen before but I can't justify the cost at the moment! I think the next purchase will be a sound bar or wireless 5.1 system, I've got a smallish lounge so any recommendations would be appreciated.
