For anyone out there like me still using the above, new firmware Version 21 is now available.

What does the firmware upgrade actually do?

According to Sony, "Improves compatibility to enhance interactivity with some BD-ROMs". The update also is for the BDP-S550 and BDP-S5000ES. There is also an update for the 360,560 and 760 series as well.
