Is the kitchen worth it? Is the 'study' worth it? Am I worth it......?

There's no way of knowing, Sonos never pre-announce anything, I suspect it's just Amazon.

There is not a new version to our knowledge. Does seem a very good price, seems to be about £314 now!

Got mine in black for £306 at the Manchester show, so even at £314 thats a good price, especially with impending vat increases on the way,

£290 must be the cheapest price ever seen anywhere
