Hi,

I have a fully upgraded pro-ject debut pro and denton 85 anniversy speakers with the pro-ject phono-box s2.

I am a newbie FYI. My amp is sonos amp with class D and 125 watts per channel. Sound is amazing.

But... I do have a budget for the musical fidelity m5si or m6si. Now I can get either one but don't want to pay for marginal improvement over the Sonos.

Sonos amp has zero issues powering the speakers but what are the thoughts? Am I missing unreal sound by using the sonos amp over the m5si?

Thanks

Unfortunately it’s one of things where you’ll have listen for yourself. I doubt anybody here has these exact combos. And unless they have them both to hand audio memory is pretty much useless.

But having said that I’d expect the MF amps to have a little more composure and control especially at louder volumes. But it will hardly be night and day. And that’s just a guess. And with you Sonos amp you’ll be giving up a lot of functionality that MF amps can’t hope to match. It’s not always about sound.

I’d say stick with what you have and enjoy it’s a nice clean system.
