Just a quick question - I am after some recommendations on classical piano music. I love the following two tracks;

Debussy - Clair de Lune

Satie - Gymnopedie No. 1

and would like to find some more that are similar. Any recommendations?

Thanks

As you like Debussy and Satie, try a few other pieces by them, or perhaps Faure, Poulenc or Ravel.

Clair de Lune comes from the Suite Bergamasque, all very beautiful, so worth getting the whole work. Also the works Miroir and Images, or the Preludes and Etudes (though these require more concentration).

Generally they are referred to as Impressionistic, as they correspond to a similar era in art/painting, like Monet.

For a variety, you can get orchestrated versions of the Gymnopadie (I think there are 3 short pieces with that title). And for a Pole rather than a Frenchman, anything by Chopin, perhaps the Preludes or Nocturnes, though his Ballades and Scherzi are wonderful pieces that last 7 to 10 minutes each.

Happy listening.
