I know some will accuse me of attention seeking or whatever but consider.

Is the sound we hear from our speakers more to do with box design?

Speakers are designed to work within a given frequency range approx 35Hz upto 20kHz and everything inbetween. But are dependent on the box to deliver their sound.

If for example I took the drive units from an ATC scm11 and a BX2 and placed them on the bench would they sound the same?

The idea that everything is supposed to sound the same and perceived differences are in the mind is fascinating.

Any way do speakers all sound the same only their boxes make a difference?

Is there anything left to question?

does everyone's doorbell sound the same? Lol.

ive just got a little bit of "toe in" on the bell, and got it wall mounted, out of the way of vibration.

Sounds like a real bell from in the living room.

Which iQ (claiming to be 'boggit') are you?

My pleasure .*smile*

I can still remember the first time I heard a Per Abrahamsen ( Electrocompaniet ) designed amp many years ago, I knew almost instantly that I was listening to something very special because the sound was so much more realistic and natural ,the music was layed out in front of me with real people playing instruments in a real sounding space that was maintained at all listening levels and with all types and styles of music , it seemed impossible to make the amplifiers clip no matter how dynamic or loud the music got .

It is worth searching and reading about the history, design and philosophy of Electrocompaniet if you get time, the basic amplifier design is still unique even after all these years .

One thing I have noticed recently is that there are many similarities between the Electro basic design and the Hegel amplifiers , in fact if you read the stories and philosophy of the two companies they are strikingly similar but Electrocompaniet has been around far longer than Hegel *smile* .

Oh sorry, wasn't remarking on that comment I quoted about 'original real one' – just noticed the name of your company and thought 'that sounds familiar', so wondered whether you knew there were already iQ Speakers out there, and from rather bigger companies.

IME bigger companies mean bigger and more expensive lawyers, with almost as much taste for blood as they have for money.

If ever I appear on there radar I must of been doing something right. It's really nothing to worry about at this stage. Originally I chose IPL Pro Build which IPL asked ne to change. Rather than procrastinate over name I plumped for iQ. I have previously douchmented my thoughts on names legal stuff on other threads. But thank you for your concern.

I had my ears syringed a number of years ago - the improvement of my high frequency register was immediate - all the dull muffled sounds disappeared - clarity reigned. - not a douche in sight.

A quick google of the term iq speakers was very revealing too.

Tosh. The bigger the corp, the more financially orientated they are, and mere ego ("blood thirst") has no place.
