smiley icons

When I try to start a new topic or reply to a thread I can see the icons for a few seconds before they disappear. Is this a problem with my PC?

that does happen some times. but there should be a smiley in the icons at the top of the reply box for inserting them.

Thanks for the quick reply. No I do not have any icons. I can use the options tab but it puts the icon here.
