I have just "upgraded" from Sky + (Amstrad Box) to HD (Samsung).

HD Is Great but SD pictures are far better quality on my old Sky+ box than on the Samsung (HDMI or Scart RGB). Ihave improved things with better quality leads and setting the sky Box resolution to "Automatic" but the Amstrad is still much better than the Samsung on SD.

My TV is a 3 week old Sony KDL37W55

Any ideas anyone?

Not a lot you can do mate if the RGB scart is no better.

The HD boxes by design force the signal to deinterlace and/or scale when using a hdmi (Its deinterlacer in particular is very poor)

Id have though the scart would have been more or less the same as sky+? Clearly if you say its not then it cant be

Best setting for hdmi is usually 1080i (Meaning it scales but DOESNT deinterlace)
