SKY+ HD box options

I am aware of the current shortages of HD boxes. Can anyone confirm that the PACE box is still available (ie the one with the 2 digital sound outputs). My installation needs 2 digital sound outs and hence the Samsung or Thomson will not do.Thanks

Yes,pace boxes are still available! but makes no odds what make box it is as long as it's one of the newer generation of stb, they have both optical/coaxial outputs its the older ones that didnt

All currently advertised Thomson and Samsung HD boxes from SKY or eg satbuyer seem to only have 1 digital out????? Are SKY about to get these new generation boxes?

These boxes have been around for a while now and sky are using them!

Yep, my Samsung box (fitted Dec 08) has both coax and optical digital out.

I had phoned SKY before I started this. I should have known better really! The many departments I spoke to simply did not know the specs of the boxes. What is the best number for future use? I think I spoke to "technical" with no luck! If only we had 5.1 down the HDMI cable all this would be unnecessary. Is there a date for this?
