I had an ambilight 21:9 TV and loved it. Ambilight is very effective. I had the 50" but ultimately it was a bit small for me.

Im pretty sure Ambilight has transformed into Ambilux and some comments don't seem very complimentary. Basically where ambilight would give you a gentle glow to reflect the colours on screen, Ambilux seems to be more of a projection of the image.

Also ive seen the pics of your room on another thread and I'm very sure it won't work very well. The tv really needs to sit square on to the back wall (the plainer, the better) and probably closer than you currently have yours.
