SHARP 4T-C40BJ5KF2FB sound problem

So I just got this new TV....and the audio is connected via the fibre optic thing to my amp. I usually keep the speakers on the TV as my front speaker and then stereo either side. Problemis now that is ever so slightly ou of sync., producing an echoey effect. Very annoying and at the moment all i can do is mute the TV....was hoping there may be a way to fix? Seems like a manufacturing fault to me :-( Retailer burying head in the proverbial sand..... :-(
