I've just bought a new TV, but when I got it home I realised it didn't have any audio out ports, just optial out.
Now, I have a 2.1 speaker system that I connected to my old TV by way of a phono cable from the Sub into the audio out on my old TV.
The 2.1 speaker system came with another cable, a phono to 3.5mm jack, which I presume is to connect it to the headphone jack on a TV.
The question is, is there a noticable degredation in sound quality when connecting the system up to the headphone jack opposed to an audio out via phono cables? I think there is, but I'm a novice at this and I'm not sure if I'm just telling myself it doesn't sound as good.
