nowedays you can buy separates like marantz mm 7055 combi av7005 for 2500.00

and av 8003 combo mm8003

advantage is that there are easy upgradebly and that the sound is a long way better than receivers

is there someone who tested them ????

and so yes are there so mutsch better sounding ???

I haven't tried the marantz pairings but IMO if you are thinking of a high end (£1.5k +) av receiver (or equivalent used) then pre/pro & multichannel power is a sensible alternative with the potential to improve in the power amplification area.

thanks a lot

i am thinking about going for separates ....

i think there is only one av receiver matching upp separates but it cost 3700.00 euro

nad t787 and this receiver is easy to upgrade (module)

the reviewer found him sounding as good as mackintosh separates

i am going to try too listening to both

The Arcam AVR 600 is worth a listen (with 3D board), as it is much more stable now. There's also good offerings from Anthem, Yamaha, Denon and Pioneer
