Hi all, new member here.

I'm splitting this post into multiple parts to try to figure out why this forum's software is blocking it as spam. The error message I received, "Your content can not be submitted. This is likely because your content is spam-like or contains inappropriate elements. Please change your content or try again later. If you still have problems, please contact an administrator," is completely unhelpful. Change my content in what way?

I'd like some recommendations for a mini stereo system with the following features:
Detached speakers
FM radio
Aux input
Bluetooth input
Remote control
Tone controls (bass & treble at a minimum)
CD changer (3 discs or more) [pet peeve: why do so many sellers think a single-disc player constitutes a "changer"?]

Part 2:

These features would be nice, but none are mandatory and I wouldn't regret not having any of them:
AM radio
HD radio/DAB
Headphone output
Bluetooth output
USB or flash memory card (SD, etc.) input
Reads MP3, WMA etc. discs
Phono turntable or input
Subwoofer output
Surround sound (if present, will probably use in a 3.0, 3.1, 4.0 or 4.1 configuration - no center channel)
Loudness control
Equalizer
EDIT: add Wi-Fi/streaming capability

I would probably not use a cassette player if present.

Part 6:

I've also looked at the Panasonic SA-AK100.

Budget is up to $1000 but I expect something very good can be had for much less.

This is to be installed in an apartment bedroom on a dresser, end table, or small shelf; space is very limited. I already have standard-sized separates that could build a decent system but they're just too big.

TIA for your advice!

OK, so I am at a loss about the spam block. By breaking up the message I was able to post the whole thing without deleting anything.

What's the issue that prevented me from posting it all together?

Do you look for new or used unit? On used marked, there are quite many good ones on ebay etc. To get new one, nearly impossible to get one. I will recommend to take a look on some solide used one for a good price. If you will look for a single CD hifi mini system, there is e.g. Denon mini HiFi RCD M41 DAB is still king of the road in iys class. Even speakers are quite good ones. BR.

Thank you for your suggestion! Used is OK, as long as good ones are fairly readily available. The M41 is a very good choice. Is there nothing similar with a CD changer? I see that it has several inputs, so I could add a changer to it - but that rather defeats the purpose of having a mini system.

Also, I see that I left out a feature from the "would be nice to have" list (Wi-Fi/streaming capability) - added by edit.

Welcome, S! I can recommend a -would have to be used- Nakamichi SoundSpace 8 as excellent . I have a Bluetooth receiver connected through its RCA aux-in input. It comes in black or silver. I have the nice silver, but today I'd pay a premium for a premium black issue.

Availability is probably limited and will vary greatly by where you are and what resources are available to you; but, that is your task/business in any event. Shopping new or used is a large part of hobby-fun! Used especially takes patience and luck. Take your sweet time and enjoy.

Note: My Nakamichi came with TWO remotes.

Hmm I think your shopping list all in one unit is going to be difficult. CD changers were the answer to 'everything everywhere all at once' before you could stream from your phone. Hence not going to be found with Bluetooth or Wi-Fi

The idea of a DM41 type device, then plug in what you're missing, is a good one. Something like this https://ebay.us/m/mW0ugy.

The M41 is a very good choice.
That's what I thought when I told a brother to buy the previous M40.
We both wish I hadn't - due to a mechanically noisy / faulty CD section that was never really right.
The M41 has a few users complaining about electronics issues too.

As successful and well reviewed as previous M model minis have been over the years, I wouldn't recommend a more recent version (of course I realise there will (currently) be many satisfied owners).

Have you returned faulty M40 to dealer or got some fix of CD mechanic?

No, we let it drift out of guarantee.
A mate gave me an electrically faulty M37 - I intended to use its mechanism in the M40 but unfortunately, despite similar exteriors, the CD mechanisms were internally, physically incompatible.

Never mind - I've connected a perfectly working, decades-old standalone Philips CD player to his M40 - and he's more than happy with that 👍

I have a friend, still using he say first Philips CD player. Massive machine with original estetic and I have to say still sounding good...It has around 40 years😆 Also Rega Planet with top loading of CD could survive some nuclear war...and also sounds awsome.
