HDMI, it will display in HD, while Scart will display in SD

HDMI is the best choice, as long as its a HDTV

Hi,

Didn't think the Sky+ box had an HDMI output? Thought only the SkyHD box had one?

If they haven't changed the specs of the Sky+ then you can only output through the SCART socket to the TV as there's no HDMI option.

Cheers,

Damn. You beat me to it. But quite. AFAIK, theres no HDMI connection on a sky+ box
unless they've changed. there certainly isnt on mine!

I think my sky box could do with an upgrade. Every now and again it looses all the channel's and just says no signal. If I check signal strength and lock in the settings menu everything is fine. The only way to "fix" it is to unplug the power from the box, leave it for 10 seconds or so and plug it in again. I think it's a common software/firmware fault with the Amstrad box.

Going to have to move soonish as landlord wants to sell the house. So I might think about getting sky hd although paying an extra £10 a month for a handfull of hd channels seems a bit of a rip off. I mainly watch discovery channels on sky, real time, turbo and the normal discovery.I think only 2 discovery channels are in hd at the moment.

Will sky hd be able to recieve the new free sat hd channels when they become available ?

Im getting my new Pany 42" PZ85 delivered tomorrow and realised today that I havn't got an hdmi lead. So I went into 5 different shops today to try and buy the QED hdmi lead as recomended on these forums. But only 1 shop stocked them and they didn't have the length I required. Ordered the lead from hificables.co.uk, free delivery and cheaper than the retail stores. I'll have to borrow my brothers lead tomorrow to "test" out GT5 prolouge in 1080p.

EDIT: I mainly watch in no particular order , OCC,Mythbusters,Miami Ink,Future Weapons,Ray Mears,Overhaulin,Familly Guy,Futurama,UFC,F1,moto gp etc alot of Discovery channels in there. Not really into sports unless it's boxing or UFC or has an engine :) And a lots of movies of course. Working my way through the James Bond Ultimate Editions at the moment. Awesome in DTS and the remastered pictures look amazing, especially the best/earliest Connery Bonds.

It already does - BBC and Channel 4 HD . That's all you're going to get free anywhere until ITV gets its act together.
