This is good value atthe moment around half price. Thinking of getting one. However, in terms of High quality files it only goes to 24/48. I was going to play this through the DAC on my Pearl Lite CD player will this allow the Sansui to player a wider range of high quality files?

If the streaming section is limited to 24/48 – really? In this day and age? – then no amount of dackery is going to change that.

That does indeed seem to be the case - it's 24/48 max for FLAC.

Almost as bad as that Pro-ject streamer that can't play FLAC at all

Yes, it is tempting, isn't it?

I almost was, but plumped for the Pioneer N-30 instead because a) it seemed to have better support for high-res files (though I admit to not being an expert here) and b) there is an Android app for controlling it (I don't do Apple). It costs a few pounds more (about £240 at the moment) but I've had mine for a couple of weeks now and am convinced I made the right choice.

Bought the Sansui in the end got it for £100 on an auction site. I am impressed with this player. It is nicely finished and easy to use . The manual is easy to follow. It scans and finds networks very easily. I have tried with both Wi-Fi and wired home plug connections. F M sounds good for the money. DAB is what you would expect. It locates internet stations well and the sound quality is again impressive. A bit hit and miss when using it to stream from main computer and does buffer a lot on high res tunes, but I don't tend to use this very often. If it is mainly radio that you are after then at the £170 that this is now available for then it is a very good deal.

Hi,

Have been looking at this for a while. Just wondered if it will play files above 24/48 Flac, but I appreciate it would only be at 24/48 and not higher. I was looking to play a lot of music from USB stick/portable hard drive.

Thanks in advance

Shaun
