Have been planning to buy the 8000 but on reading the reviews on What Hi Fi it isn't clear what is better/different compared to the 7000. Can anyone enlighten me?

I'm interested in this too.

As far as I can see, the only difference (apart from the different stand arrangement), is that the 8000 has a 10 bit panel, whereas the 7000 is 8 bit.

I agree that is the only difference i can see. foudn this on http://4k.com/the-ultimate-guide-to-the-new-4k-tvs-of-2016-from-samsung-to-lg-sony-and-vizio-14496-2/

"However, the difference between 8 bits and 10 bits is enormous, with 8-bit color allowing for a total of only 16.8 million color mixes and only 257 possibly values for any one of the primary digital display colors –Red Green and Blue (RGB). While this sounds enormous, 10-bit color allows for just over 1 billion different colors and 1024 different values for any of the RGB colors. In other words, a 4K TV with 10-bit color offers a much more refined, smoother gradation between color variations, and the effect in 4K TV display can be spectacular to behold, especially as far as realism and vibrancy are concerned."

The 7000 and 8000 are both 10 bit painels, to be able to have HDR+ Is mandatory! That was some bad info circulating on the wed about the KS7000 having a 8 bit painel but that info is incorrect!

The same issue is mentioned on the JL user reviews for the 8000 although only once. Based on the replies above my conclusion at the moment is that the 7000 is just as good as the 8000 and much better value for money.

Just found this at the link posted by HiFiOutlaw http://www.pocket-lint.com/review/137696-samsung-ks7000-suhd-tv-review-serious-performance-for-the-price

"Where this panel differs from Samsung's Series 8 or 9 televisions is partly in dimming, with those top-tier televisions capable of more extreme dimming between zones. Here you have "UHD Dimming" where the top TVs offer "Supreme UHD Dimming". You will notice that on the KS7000 there's some bleed out from zones. "

The review of the 7000 (albeit 49" version) on HDTVtest singles out the motion performance to be very good - beating the best on offer from Panasonic, Sony and LG:

http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/ue49ks7000-201610234374.htm

So I think that a lot of those reviews on JL are suspect (maybe fake).

I'm interested in the 49" version, but I would still get the 8000 purely because I prefer the appearance of the stand. I generally change my TV every 6 or 7 years, so it has to look good even when switched off !
