Samsung PS51F5500

Most agree that the Samsung PS51F5500 is great value but useless if used in a bright room.

I will mostly watch this TV late at night and if it is to be watched during the day I can keep the curtains closed,will that solve the "brightness problem on the Samsung"?

Any answers or Smart TV alternatives?

Samsung PS51F5500 review

We didn't find it particularly poor in brighter lighting conditions and certainly if you're room will be a little darker for most of the time, sounds like you'll be fine.
