I have had a chance to view and play different DVDs on this set which i have to say is a real looker its a really lovely looking plasma, i was about to get a panasonic PX-80 or PZ-80 but the cosmetics and general look of these sets put me off, and my wife really does like the look of the Samsung. Has anyone else got one of these???? what do you think, are you pleased with it.
Will the What HiFi team be reviewing this set in the near future, i have done some home work on this model and in general has had good reviews from people who have bought this model, the downside seems to be the sound from the set, but thats about it. So i thought i would try and get some input from any readers forum members that might have this set. Thanks.

No, don't know it myself, but given that we pretty much liked the 50 in 556 and also the smaller 656 range models, barring disasters it looks like a pretty safe bet.

Bear in mind new models are on the way in the Spring from both the big Korean manufacturers, however.

There ia always that element of should i wait for newer models, and i have thought about this but like anything new it will be more expensive, but hopefully the model we have seen will come down in price, it is currently £999 which i think is very good, and as i said before it is a loveley looking plasma in rose black, as has ticked all the right boxes, batman dark night was superb, and kung foo panda was out of this world, i have to say after some tweeking i thought it was better than the panasonics only just though.

I can say that this is a stunning Plasma this is the 6 series so pretty new, like its sibbling LCD 656 Model this the rose black finnish where as the LCD has the red tint, i was very nearly tempted by the LCD but playing normal Blu-rays [not animation]i founf the plasma more natural like you said, well worth a look Ear, i think if you were to see it it would be a sale, it is one of the best looking sets i have seen.

the only disadvantage I see is that the 5 series samsung ,when displaying a dark scene, is more of a grey than black.but then again, I still would prefer the image of the samsung. But for those greyish blacks; I think the samsungs lcds would be much better. I've seen then with freeview and they don't seem very bad.I want a 46 our a 52, so beeing a big buy I don't want to rush. But You get a 50 inch plasma for the price of a good 40 inch lcd.
