Samsung - blue only mode?

I have been meaning to ask this for ages now, and I've just remembered. Why on earth is there a 'blue only' mode on Samsung sets? If you don't know what it is, it makes all the colours blue! I cannot think of a single reason why it's there... Does anyone have an idea?

Apparently it lets you adjust the colour and tint more easily while viewing a test pattern. Bit like the THX Optimiser blue filter glasses, but built-in so you don't need the glasses.
