Hi Clare,

Great review as always, found it very interesting and informative.

But now the 1 million dollar question, sorry to put you on the spot, Samsung 8 Series 40" or Sony 40" w4500.

Im gonna treat myself to a new christmas box and would love to know.

We'd still say the Sony has a slight performance edge, but then it doesn't have the networking capabilities of the Samsung. I'd urge you to see both in action before you buy - either would make a superb set for Christmas viewing!

I know we're due some more Samsung sets in, but not sure if the 46in '8' is among them - I know we've got a larger '9' coming in, but again i'll need to check...
