Now £100 cheaper than the 55F8000 in the same shop!

With a 5 year guarantee

(for some obscure reason this site will not allow me to post links to Curry's website, try as I might!

Odd, it seems it is ok unless I start the actual thread, and then it just will not work

The 55F7000 was on Curry's site yesterday for £1149 (bargain) and I tried to post that 4 times, and it never showed on the forum!

Should be OK now...

Do you know something I don't John??!!

Yes. Our spam filter is being overexuberant at the moment, and I have added you to the user group which avoids the checks.

i had the same problem the other day, I couldn't create a new thread without it being blocked by the spam filter. The way round it somehow was to update another thread and then I could create a new one? Strange, mine had no links in it either. It was as if I hadn't authenticate properly?

Is it just me or have Currys got the listing completely wrong!? It is advertised as an LED TV and all the info on the site says it's an edge lit LED TV...I thought the F8500 range was plasma no?? :?

There is (was) also an F8500 plasma!

The F8500 LED is the same TV as the F8000 inside, it just has the same stand as the F8500 plasma range and the bezel is brushed aluminium

Why anyone would have spent the extra to buy it baffles me!

Well that one passed me by somehow...

Seems strange that Samsung would produce LED versions of the plasma range but then I can see the appeal of the premium aluminium finish to some people but I much prefer the slim profile and picture frame qualities of the F8000 personally. Thanks to you both for clearing that up as I was a bit confused over that one.

I've seen them side by side, and prefer the finish on the F8000, but then I would say that eh?

Seriously, the silver finish may not be to everyone's taste, and yes it is odd that they package an F8000 with the 'Magnum' plasma style stand

I got to see the F8000 LED and F8500 plasma side by side in my local John Lewis and much preferred the look of the F8000 although the F8500 plasma was wall mounted so the stand wasn't on it but even so the slimmer profile and so small it's barely there bezel were much more appealing to me than the gun metal styling of the F8500. I'm bound to say that too though aren't I... ;)
