To many the Samsung 55C8000 TV matched to the Denon AVR3311 would be the ideal combination (especially if you also throw in a 7.1 Monitor Audio Apex speaker setup) - but I have a problem. They dont seem to work together. I can get audio but not video. I have tried different cables (even buying expensive QED Purple HDMI) but nothing I do gives a picture. I have tried connecting via Component. I have tried different sources (Sky HD, PS3, Blueray DVD). The amp works perfectly with my other Samsung TV (46" B7020) and each of the sources work perfectly connected individually to the HDMI ports on the TV. The TV's "Easynet" identifies the Denon and the TV remote controls the Denon's volume. Had the amp sent back to the supplier (all checks out ok). I am arranging for the TV to be returned as well shortly. But before I do has anyone got any further things to check out?

Thanks for any help.

My 8000 works fine with my setup....doesnt help you I know but maybe Samsung can help if there is a known compatibility problem with your av amp?

Thank you for your reply. I should have also stated that I have scanned the internet and been in contact with Denon and Samsung. There are no known compatibility issues.

Just wanted to check if there was anything I might of missed before sending the TV back. It was easier sending the amp back as I could still watch TV. Not looking forward to being without the TV for a while. Thankfully the amp and TV was purchased from the same dealer (unfortunately not at the same time).

Sounds like you have tried everything. Did you try the amp on another hdmi input? Its strange that you get video when fed direct from the sources but not through the amp.Its bizarre ..are they sending out a new tv for you to try or is it just going back to the shop for them to test it? It may be worth sending both the amp and tv back for them to test in the shop. Let us know what it is... you never know it could be me next!

I have tried the amp on all of the four HDMI ports. I might just be unlucky and have a fault on the TV but I agree it is strange that the ports work with other sources.

I am sending the TV back to the supplier. Have to arrange for Samsung to send me a box first - does anyone keep the big TV boxes? I normally keep boxes but the TV box was just too big. The supplier will then test with another Denon 3311 amp. Dont know what to do if theirs works!

Have you tried disabling all the hdmi control functions on both the tv and the amp? I've found from time to time that if there is an inconsistency in the hdmi control protocols it can lead to a bit of headscratching. Try turning the samsung's easynet and denon's hdmi control off and see what happens.

What does the tv say?

Does it say 'check signal cable' or 'No signal' or is the screen just blank?

U could try changing the output resolution on ur amp - make sure its set to 1080p.

Does anything appear when u press the menu button on the tv - if yes then try the self diagnostic and see if the test picture appears. If it does try turning off the anynet in the settings.
