i can get one for around e1400 , with two pairs of glasses , and the salesman tells me that the 3d sammy player he has , has two hdmi outs ? is that right ? i can get that for about e320 ..

ill demo tmw and see what i think , check out the 3dbdp etc.. its very good value imo , e70 more than a 50v20 , plus 3d and a 3d player/glasses , looks beautiful too .. hmmm ? ..

i can only find one , excellent review from our transatlantic friends [:)] , do any of you guys know anything about the sammy that i should know about ? ive been trawling through the various forums and most owners are very happy..

image quality is said to be similar to the pana g20 , but better colour/blacks and apparently sd . im tempted [:p]

edit.. im aware of the lack of 1080/24p , but its apparently not a major problem , ill check out a few of my own blurays on it tmw ..

..

A quick search online revealed a few things about Samsung 50C7000:

1) Very good TV for the price.

2) Some problems with temporary image retention

3) Some problems with motion blur

4) Atleast a couple of users have changed it for the Panasonic.

How important is 3D for you max? My opinion about 3D is: it's still too early to adopt. A lot of tweaking and standardization needs to be done. Much better 3D TVs will arrive in the next 2-3 years.

Knowing how upgraditis bug bites you, you may be better off buying the best TV you can afford, rather than a TV with a lot of extras you may hardly use. I think you should concentrate on 3D on your next upgrade (after 2-3 years atleast), when the 3D technology becomes more stable.

Let us know what you think when you demo it.

At least from what I have manage to figure out about the screen so far at least.
It is fair to say that we really miss some good quality reviews for this TV. What are Flatpanels and HDTV.uk doing? A WhatHifi review would of course be nice as well
emotion-5.gif

From what I have read, the picture quality should be somewhere in between the G20 and VT20.
As always with Samsung plasmas you need to be a little careful the first 200 hours not to get screen burn, and standard settings are awful compared to the THX settings on Panasonic. If you go for the Samsung I would recommend you get a professional calibration, as tweaking is pretty difficult (almost like Philips
emotion-4.gif
)

And then I heard that the new Samsung players should have dual HDMI outs like Panasonic! Way to go Samsung
emotion-21.gif

All in all I think it is a wonderful offer, and I would definately be tempted (although I have no room for a 50 inch screen...).
But what happened to the LX6090 Max?

yea thanks bb , i agree actually , i know 3d is barely off the ground , i definately wont be buying a vt20 as its just too much money when all is said and done ...

my line of thinking is that the 50v20 is basically the same price as the sammy 3d option , and afaik not a whole lot better in 2d , which of course will be 95% of what id watch anyway if i had a 3d set ..

so i think its not a case of spending money on things i dont need , but more a case of , spending the same money and getting things i might like
emotion-15.gif
..

anyways ill demo tmw , check out the hdmi outs etc and have a think about it ..

Over here, there's not much difference in price between the 2 TVs.

Panasonic TX-P50V20

Samsung PS50C7000 (without 3D glasses)

hi cm7 how are you ?

yes im going to demo the c7000 plasma tmw , its a great price , the vt20 is too much for me , my new tv will either be a 50v20 pana or the sammy ..

how are you finding your tv ? do you have a samsung 3d blu-ray player ? does it have two hdmi out ? ta..

hi , everything ok here.

tv is great , you still can buy it here for less then 1200 £ .. motion blur in 50c7000 plasma ?????

it is surely confusion... image retention im not going to say it doesnt exists cause it has some ... in the first hours of life you notice bit more but now it decresed and it is something very residual, does not interfere with viewing experience and fades away very quicly ..

as for the vs with pana 50vt20.. still today when shop at meadiamarkt pass by the vt20 and fell 100 % sure that i made the best buy!

And honestly i think its the best way to chose is when you see it , so if you demo the both im sure you will have no doubts about your choice ! And yes , both are 2 great tvs !

if you need anything else , photos , doubts , email me , try to answer tomorrow, gonna watch movie now.. (ps. didnt bought the 3d player- i have ps3 ;) )

cya tommorrow ! email is mariomiguel@netvisao.pt

Ooo, careful, my 24fps BDP's playback is lousy when hooked up to a non-1080p/24fps TV.

Do you have Dark Knight on BD?

If so, try as a demo - IME the opening shot across the roof tops looks crud on a non-1080p/24fps TV.

thanks cm7 , check back tmw and you can read my opinions
emotion-21.gif
...

6th , im worn out from reading up on this tv
emotion-1.gif
, ive found out its now been renamed the c6900 , and afaik it does have 24p playback
emotion-1.gif
..

apparently the us version c7000 doesnt (the only one to have been reviewed yet) , but their c8000 does(not reviewed yet) , and i believe the c6900/c7000 here is identical in spec (obviously different tuners) to their c8000 ...

heres a link to the specs on comet , freeview hd , 24p .. ive checked several more sellers too , they all list 24p
emotion-4.gif
interesting..

im wacked , bedtime ..

oh dear , something strange is going on i tell you
emotion-15.gif
...

it seems that the samsung 50c7000 plasma is no more , problems with the "clear view screen" is one suggestion..

another is that the company that made the "black filter" has gone bust , and samsung are making them themselves for the new c6900 .. hmm.??.

the c7000 has a black bezel ..

the c6900 has a grey bezel ..

the c7000 is said to have deep blacks ..

the c6900 has no blacks , just greys , poor greys , every other tv in two different stores that i looked at this morning had better blacks than the c6900 ?? lcds , plasmas , anything .. oh dear ..

could this be why the tv had to get a new "grey bezel" ??

i could have bought the 50c6900 with two pairs of glasses , for e1300
emotion-3.gif
..

e1300 for a 50in tv ? in ireland ?

why so cheap ? its a grey area

two great tvs the v20/vt20 , id love one and of course i think both are 5 star tvs all day long
emotion-10.gif
...

but i would lose e650 on the sale of my g10 , best price i can get is e500 , i couldnt sell such an excellent tv for that..

even if i did , id have to put another e1150 with it for a v20
emotion-3.gif
. that wouldnt be good business

I personally would not change a tv after a year Max
emotion-21.gif
if it was not for the size of my last one i would not have got rid of it, that was only 3 and half years old.

This one better last a long long long time
