Hi all. Having found that cd plays better through the DACS on my Onkyo rather than analoge out from my denon DVD 1920 I was looking for an SACD player (may well be a DVD player) with DSD out over HDMI. Any recommendations?

Checked this out just the other day. Mr Everard is correct, Oppo is the choice at the moment. The PS3 no longer supports SACD, it was only the early models that did.

There is a new Oppo blu-ray player coming out shortly which includes SACD, so it might be worth waiting a little.

Thanks. The Oppo blu-ray is tempting

We're still waiting to hear of review sample availability and specification of the European version of the player. There's no guarantee the spec here will be the same as the model currently being introduced in the USA.

I would follow it up as I dont think it is happening in a Euro form. It is no longer on their site.

and crtprojectors are doing a region free kit for it now.

That is a shame. I have found some US reviews and it sounds ideal. SACD support and good BLU-RAY (including fast start up) & DVD pictures.

I did, rang the shop in Sweden who confirmed that there will be a European version later this year. You can register to be informed when it will be released. No price yet.

Fine fellow. I will register now.

I notice from tue US oppo site that it has a multi voltage power supply. This would presumably simplify the production of a european model as only firmware for the DVD/Blu Ray regions would need to be altered.

interesting that they have recently removed it from the website though, when did you call them?

as when i registered at the end of 2008 when the BD player was on the site they did not know if it would be released.

Just before posting. The player is still on the US site, by the way.

maybe but it has been removed from the Euro site,

I also hear that the Euro version will be a "lite" version missing many of the US versions features.

The fact that it has been removed from the European site proves nothing. Call them on +4621188718 and ask yourself - hearsay is just that.
