yes there is:

in the audio settings menu on the 370, make sure the "BD audio Mix setting" is set to OFF, "Dolby Digital" is set to "dolby digital" and "Audio DRC" is set to "wide range".

And that should do the trick.

Itturns of any form of audio compression-I think. I initially found Dolby HD sountracks lacked dynamics on some films. When I changed from standard to wide things seemed a lot better. More top end and a less muddy bottom. As it were.

But the AUTO setting should set to standard or wide as needed

aliEnRIK:kevinJ:and "Audio DRC" is set to "wide range".

So what does 'wide range' do?

It changes the dynamic range of the audio, making quiet parts louder and thus change the way the audio was ment to be by the director. The "standard" setting is also an 'on' setting, but with less compression than the 'auto' version.

And with a Sony, 'auto' mostly means 'on' . I don't know why they come with the 'BD audio mix setting' to 'on'. That way, buyers end up with HD picture and normal sound and missing (for me) the best feature of Blu-ray
