I'm putting an av reciever into my system for the first time and was linking it all up with s-video cabels as we're on a tight budget and I had some lying around. Imagine my surprise to find the back of the telly on takes s-video via scart... Off to the shops to get a component cable now. grrr...

That has done you a favour. S-Video is awful, hence the reason why its starting to gradually disappear. Component will get much more out of your set. Good luck!

Not really, the Cambridge Audio Azur 340R manual says it wont convert between input formats, both my Toppy and DVDP only have Scart or s-video. As the 340R does't have Scart inputs, I have to use s-video...

I tried a componenet and a composite cable this evening as was met with a blue screen in both cases. I think I now need to get an s-video to scart cable, this is a right pain the behind...
