I don't think that 60 watts will be a problem. The RA-1062 could drive most speakers with ease.

...just not necessarily to great volume. My SA1s are about 82db sensitivity and seem to suck up volts rather well. I'm sure the Rotel is capable of a lot of current.

Cypher:Beautiful !!!

Yes, it is... Rotel have always impressed me with how expensive their gear looks (as well as the sound quality).... I'm looking forward to reviews of the 1520.....

82db is rather inefficient... You'll probably want to get the RB-1572 or RB-1582 Power Amp instead (250 Watts).... Those Amps should be able to make your speakers sing....

jaxwired:I do wish it was more than 60 watts though. It almost certainly will be. Rotel's idea of "60W" tends to be a little different from everyone elses.

I shall most certainly be looking forward to the reviews of these units. They sure look really good in the pictures.

I bought a really old Rotel RX202 2-channel Receiver last weekend and even though it looks like it's about 30-years-old (don't know the actual age of the unit), its sound quality is fantastic, driving a pair of B&W 685 loudspeakers. Its power claim, both channels powered, was only about 16W per channel into 8ohm, yet its maximum power consumption is 115W.

Obviously, Rotel is extremely conservative (probably too conservative) with their power claims.

Dan.

Just Beautiful! I seriously hope it sounds as good as it looks... If so, I'd probably have to buy another Rotel!

I think it will sound a lot better than the RA-06. IMO the RA-04 sounds already better than the RA-06.

Anyone else think it is odd that this amp does not seem to be mentioned on the main http://www.rotel15series.com/ webpage??
