Found a Nad 545Bee online for the prices above. I'm finding pricing here in Australia is so inconsistant depending on brand. All the Cyrus, Naim, Roksan Kit here cost far more than equivalent priced NAD, Rotel, Yamaha etc. I'm trying hard to find kit to go with my Dynaudio Excite x12's. Testing is impossible where I am but I love my Dynaudio's.

So...to replace my Pioneer 51fd as cd source do you think this NAD would be a big improvement and is the Marantz worth a 40% premium!?

Finally will a Rotel RA 1520 be a decent choice to round out the system as I only really have to double the pounds not triple pounds compared to the roksans, naims etc!

Kind regards.

....okay looks like I am settling for the NAD 545bee...for $500AUD over the Marantz 6003 for $900AUD...

But whats your opinions on the Rotel RA-1520...which will cost me about 850 pound will it go okay with rest of system?

As a small example of prices I paid over 12 and a half pounds per metre for Chord Silver Screen Speaker wire the other week... and thats a fair price Seeing a Cyrus 6xp is about 1600 pound here you can see how we suffer on prices

Hi ABM78

The RA-1520 is a good amplifier and will work well with the X12's however i would say you can do even better with the RA-1062 (the RA-1520's predecessor) as the RA-1062 is far more musical. The RA-1062 is imo the finest amplifier Rotel have produced in the last ten years. If you are happy to buy used then you should find a good RA-1062 for around half of its RRP (£600 in the UK).

Btw, another older amp to also consider is the superb Marantz PM-64. PM-64's can be hard to come by however it is worth the wait.

All the best
