No idea about the RA-10. Have heard the 05 (original) connected to B&W 685 at a dealers. Sounded okay but had nothing to compare it with. Best advice is to get down to your nearest dealers and listen to the RA-10 and compare it with another current make.

Just go buy a ra-10, its loud enough for any form of listening, Not house party loud.

Just take the plunge and if you dont like it send it back?

It's loud but it does get warm and can't handle full volume with bass on full for anything longer than a hour, it gets too hot, the Cambridge sr10 is rated at 85w and there's not much volume in it.... If you buy the ra-10 you won't be disappointed.

This is almost painful to read and I would advise against it heavily. If you really feel like you require that much more bass, either add a subwoofer to the mix or better yet, upgrade the speakers. Please don't stress your amplifier in this way, especially as you like the sound it produces so much.

That does sound like stressing the amp out. I prefer the sound with tone defeat engaged.

+1 for the Rotel RA-05se. I had the RA-01, same watts per channel but no remote. Neutral sound with good bass. Just avoid partnering with forward sounding speakers. Go for it! Not much wrong with Rotels.

You must remember I am 18. I have house parties :) I used my rotel as it was already set up and my speakers can take it at full load and it was cutting out/overheating.... My old amp (cambridge sr10) now makes an appearance when Im having a party.

I usualy listen around 1/2 volume with all control set to the middle. :)
