rotel power amp

so ive upgraded my onkyo 605 for a 705 not a giant leap but ive got pre outs now so ive hooked up a rotel 1050 power amp to run my front speakers (mezzo 2s)it seems to work ok but at lower volums when wachng sky it seems to switch its self on and off ive got a trigger hoked up from av amp and i thnk at louder scenes it comes on again (i jst had transformers on and when the desert atack scene started it turned on again)

any ideas.

Do you have separate 12v trigger options for each input?

I have a rotel 1056 with a 1070 power amp and have to specify all inputs i want the trigger to work on.It automatically turns off the power amp after a few minutes if if doesn't detect a signal. This may be your problem.

the onkyo only has one triger output and he rotel has one in and one out..

will the triger select be in the onkyo menu thanx

I'm not familiar with the onkyo, but my av amp has settings for this in it's menu.You only need to use the 12v trigger input on your power amp.

cant seem to find any thing about a triger setting in onkyo menu.on my rotel the trigger switch has 3 positions what one do you have yours set to pls.dam just did it again came on for about 5 mins then just went of again but tv is still running sky hd via optical.weird because i would have thought the signal is still there as sky is still on.

I would put it in position 1(12 vt Trigger).This will turn on the amp when it detects a 12v trigger.On the instruction manual it says it will turn off after approx 5 Min's if no 12v signal is detected.

The other position on the rotel is signal sense which would turn on the amp whenever an audio signal is detected through the inputs.This will also turn off the amp after 5 Min's with no signal.

The problem does seem to be with settings on the onkyo.Is there anything in the onkyo instructions mentioning 12v triggers ?

yeah it does say its for zone 2 dont no if that makes a diffrence
